Night Lotus Mural
A mural that encompass the floral attributes of nature.
Somehow in this metropolis of Los Angeles, at home, I am surrounded by the sprawling vines of the pitaya plant. The garden is magical, it acts as my escape from reality. Pitaya flowers bloom overnight and wilt by the following day, a precious secret that only those who rise with the moon can learn. I began by drawing these winding plants in my garden, slowly compiling a huge array of sketches depicting the iridescent blossom of the dragon fruit flower. Through my interpretive hand drawings, the spiny edges and delicate curves of the pitaya plant harmonize to form the Night Lotus mural.
The colors and shapes nature provides are abundant and forever inspiring, but my ultimate goal has been to bring nature into the home, through my artistic endeavors.
